Xbox 360 Backwards Compatibility List to get the Shaft

by Ernie

If you are like me and never had an xbox and are now using your 360 to play those Xbox original titles you missed, you may be in trouble. Microsoft said something in GDC which turned a knot in my stomach.

Quote:
“At some point we’re going to focus less on it. When you get to the end of this year there will be a reduced focus on backwards compatibility. There are so many 360 games out there. I don’t know if it’s important anymore.”

That means that if by the end of the year Stranger’s Odyssey is not in the list, it may never be, and my sealed copy of the game, waiting to be played, will always be ignored. Now, I understand these are not the biggest of news, but for some people, the “more bang for your buck” applies, and if you can play games from two consoles in one, then thats winning. I guess there wouldnt be any more harm done, provided that the inmense majority of the worthwhile games to play on Xbox is already on the list, and they did had the decency to put Psychonauts in there, so kudos to them. But Microsoft, could you please put Stranger’s Odyssey in there before you guys give it up?
